It includes 2 classrooms, toilets, safe spaces, central activities area, offices, Para-educational room, and Sensory room. It is long over due and we are all delighted with it and look forward to seeing its benefit to our school over the coming weeks, months and years. The pupils are thrilled with their new space and we are already seeing its impact. Teachers Cormac & Ellen; SNAs Gillian, Nuala, Paula, Anne-Marie & Yvonne are delighted also and the main office gives the school a new focal point and somewhere for visitors to be greeted.
Many thanks to the Board of Management for supporting this throughout, John Coleman in particular, to the staff for working hard to get everything setup and ready. Special thanks goes to Pat O'Regan for all the time and effort he put in to preparing furniture and classrooms and also to Margaret O'Sullivan for always ensuring the school is clean and presentable.
During this exciting time, we are conscious of not wanting our new building to be known only as the "ASD Unit". To avoid this we will be running a competition with all the pupils in the school over the next few weeks to name our new building. Further details to be announced shortly.
